START RIGHT For many children in Clackamas County back-to-school is not a happy time. Their families cannot afford the supplies they need. Children are embarrassed that they are the only ones without supplies. Some of the children are from families living in poverty and others are in foster care. We believe project START RIGHT helps children to be accepted by their peers and ready to learn. Last year’s project distributed ‘basic back to school’ packets to about 1400 children from Kindergarten to 12th grade. This project is sponsored by Prince of Life Lutheran Church, area Churches and Oregon Department of Human Services.

The bookmarks that are in our bulletins today lists the items needed to help with this project. A box is in the Parish Hall for these donations. Monetary donations can also be made and they can be sent to the address on the bottom of the bookmark. A receipt will be returned. All money received is used to buy school supplies.
