St. Paul’s is a place where our spiritual nature can be nurtured in a loving community.

We affirm that the greatest force in the universe is the power of self-giving love:  a love that is inclusive, ever abundant, and meant to be expressed through our action in the world. We invite you to St. Paul’s, where no part of you needs to be left at the door.
Please know that from whatever tradition you come and wherever you are in your journey of faith . . . YOU ARE WELCOME HERE.

St. Paul’s was founded in 1851 near the falls of the Willamette River in Oregon City. Since that time generations of people have sought solace, inspiration, and community in this sacred space.

We are not the perfect church; we are not perfect people; we have our bright sides and our edges . . . but we endeavor each and every week to seek God’s will for our church and our personal lives. We know that the only way to become more loving and more graceful is to bask in the love and grace of God.

As an Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Oregon, we take comfort in the ancient way that we worship. Each week we worship in the way that our forebears did. We sing, read from the Bible, pray together, and have Communion. While our history informs us and inspires us, it does not define us. We are a church that is looking toward the future with hope. We value both ancient wisdom and modern thought. We believe that the world is full of wonder and value. There is much that can be discovered by science, art and technology within the context of spirituality.

At St. Paul’s we believe that God is more merciful than judgmental, more accepting than we could understand, and more loving than we can comprehend. Here, everyone is welcome regardless of race, marital status, sexual orientation or perceived level of faith.
