Education For Ministry

Stained Glass Depiction of St. PaulEducation for Ministry (EFM) is a four-year study course offered by the School of Theology, University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee. It is designed for the laity, meeting in small groups and aided by trained mentors. The focus is on equipping each of us with knowledge and tools that will help to strengthen our spiritual lives, skills for purposeful reflection, and ultimately, insight into finding our personal vocation or ministry in God’s church.

First-year study: The Hebrew Scriptures
Second-year study: The New Testament
Third-year study: Church History
Fourth-year study: Theology & Ethics

 

Tuition is due annually; some scholarship aid may be available.

A certificate of completion is presented by the University at the completion of the four-year course. Continuing credit is available if applicable.
